In 2011, two high school graduates, Svenja and Zachäus spent 4 months in Kasese.
They worked in the school, gave lessons or tutoring to our students and built a volleyball court together with our partners.
From the planning to the first game – Svenja and Zachäus simply organized everything. Their ingenuity is most evident in the field surrounds. After much deliberation, they gave the order to a craftsman who finished sandals etc. from old car tires. This field border is stable, inexpensive and above all not imported from Europe but manufactured locally in Uganda.
The volleyball court has been in constant use ever since. In March 2012 another group of Rwenzori e.V. visited the school and brought some new volleyballs.
However, in a match against the school team they had no chance.
